Oh dear me... I'm so going to hear about this for the rest of my fandom existence!

You are a Fandom Bitch

Leaving a trail of badfic writers' mutilated bodies in your wake, you wreak sharp-tongued harpy havoc throughout your fandom(s). Sure, there are less bitter lemons, but hoo boy do you have fun.

LIfe is good. The Calgary Science Fiction and Fantasy Society (www.csffs.org) is gearing up for Con-Version 23 (www.con-version.org). If's a Sci-Fi/ Fantasy con in August, with panels, guests, and that sort of thing.

I'm busy trying to find ways to bring Fandom together in more ways than just a con. We're fans 365.25 days each year, but the average con is 2-3 days, and most of us can only afford one or two cons each year. What ideas have you seen/ can you think of? We do some pretty typical things (running a dance this spring, we have a forum, and so on). I'm looking for fresh ideas, or new takes on old ideas.

Hey folks

The Fan clubs in DFW are getting together for a family-friendly fun outdoorsy sun-shiney picnic!

Yes it's the first official DFW Fandom picnic!

The tenative date is April 14 and we're currently seeking parks in the mid-cities area. ORAC (www.oracscifi.com) is bringing the main course (burgers, hotdogs, etc) and your club, group, family, clan, whatever is welcome to add to the goodies.

So if you have any suggestions, please send me a message or share your thoughts here.

My enjoyment of things Science Fiction and Fantasy began in 1975. I never thought of Star Trek as being science fiction, but no doubt it is. In my youth, it was just a Great show. The Other worldness of such novels hold my attention and imagination is ways that no other form of fiction can.
